Description

The California Patrons toured the new art studio of sculptor Christopher Slatoff on Saturday, March 2, 2013. The beautiful gallery showcased Slatoff’s religious sculpture and his studio demonstrated the process by which he created his art. The new space was developed by Patrons Ben and Karen Dalby specifically for artists. Originally the event was designed around the visit of Cardinal Giuseppe Bertello, the President of the Vatican City State, Fr. Mark Haydu and the International Patrons staff, and leaders of the various Patrons groups in North American, who were expecting to gather in Los Angeles for a weekend of meetings and socializing. The resignation of Pope Benedict XVI required this annual meeting of leaders to be rescheduled to the fall in Rome. Cardinal Bertello sent his regrets, noting he is hosting over 100 unexpected redclad guests. The Cardinal is not only in charge of the Vatican itself, including the Museums, but a Cardinal-Elector.
